What it’s like to make decisions…
The battle of identity… who am I in this moment v. who I want to be?
It’s a crazy scenario of life we are in.
In so many moments and instances, we want the quick fix, quick feel good, quick result… but reality is, that’s not always the best thing for us.
Why do we fight the long term when that is usually the best thing for us?
The short term hits our immediate satisfaction, or so we think, and then we are often times left with an emptiness inside.
I think it goes back to understanding where you are… but more so of WHO you are… when we have a better understanding of our identity, and that it is in ourselves, and not through the eyes of other, it is a tad easier to swallow the long term pill.
Is it easy? No.
Is it worth it? Yes.
In life we have choices, we can fight for where we are and where we want to be, or we can give in to a fleeting thought, take action and swallow the pill of regret.
Perhaps some choices aren’t always regret, but when we take immediate action and make rash decisions, it leaves us with an outcome that isn’t rightfully ours at that time.
When you’ve experienced life, it’s easier to see these moments, because their milestone markers, and we can then teach others, and pray they buy into it.
On the other hand, when there’s lots of life left to live, we can then understand how to act in the future, and press further into understanding our identity.
How are you doing tonight? I’d love to hear from you.
Signing off for now,
