“Do Something bold today…”
I can’t get it out of my head; the psychology of people, and of myself.
It’s a double edged sword.
I have always been a go-getter, but I fell into a rut; partly because I lost my passion, my drive, my focus…
I think it happens to a lot of people, even more so than we realize.
Relationships falter, we lose our ‘fun selves,’ and it’s not blaming any particular thing, but it’s just our bodies turning the tables on us without us even realizing it.
My friend, Ben Dueck, who runs Cantera Leadership in Canada, posted the other day… it was a simple yet profound phrase:
“Do something bold today.”
Then he went on to ask four questions to make the reader think, and here they are:
What’s the big ask you’ve been scared to make?
Who do you want to connect with?
What big action, if successful, will launch you forward?
What’s the worst thing that can happen?
I don’t know where you are, or what you’re currently going through, but wherever you are, you have an opportunity for self-reflection.
Don’t get caught up in so much speed you forget to breathe.
As humans, we have a tendency to get on the merry-go-round and coast, but life begins when you ignite the fire.
That’s what I felt when I was playing baseball,
That’s what I feel when I workout and run now,
It’s what I feel when I taste the time and money freedom,
It’s what I feel when I’m with family, soaking it all in,
So, friends, are you ready to ignite your own fire?
